Join Depave for a Care Corps Community Volunteer event at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church!

All ages and abilities are welcome! No previous gardening experience is necessary.

Coffee and snacks will be provided, as will any tools needed.  Please bring a reusable water bottle and coffee mug, if you’re able to.

Care Corps Community Volunteer events focus on building connection through land tending together.  Activities vary based on the site and the season, and typically include a mix of pulling weeds by hand, using shovels to remove weeds, pruning, raking, mulching, and trash removal.

In addition to gardening activities, a station with arts and other alternative activites for young volunteers will setup and run by a Crew Leader.

These community events include instruction and training for best practices around safety and tool use and plant care.

Please wear a hat and sun protective clothing.  We will have sunscreen on site as well as shaded areas for breaks.  Most of the work is done in direct sunlight.
